Point of No Return’s “Sparks” is like a vice grip which comes from an unexpected source. The first track doesn’t just come on, it explodes. Track after brazen track of invocations to action which burn through one’s senses and are forever branded onto one’s awareness. Theirs is the rage of the disenfranchised, the cheated, the left for dead, and the botched and underestimated, who have endured one too many abuses of power and now stand, torch in hand, at the perpetrator’s doorstep. Their sound is heavily metallic but they write songs with a hardcore approach. The structure is full of anthemic moments which are perfectly seized by the triple vocal assault, rendering this an unmatched musical effort. It starts and ends as a war chant, unyielding in its fever pitch.
